Since opening in 1993, the Timmins and District Hospital has cared for over 3 million patients. It provides acute, transitional, and rehabilitative care, and its emergency department operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The Porcupine Health Unit has been servicing the region for over 75 years with dental hygienists, dietitians, inspectors, public health nurses, health promoters and outreach workers.
Timmins Family Health Team comprises doctors, nurses, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals collaborating to provide a comprehensive range of healthcare and wellness services and programs.
The East End Family Health Team started in 2004 as Ontario’s first nurse practitioner clinic under the primary health transition fund. The team includes nurse practitioners, nursing staff, a student physician, an Ontario Telemedicine Network Nurse, secretariat staff, a social worker, and an Executive Director.
The Centre de Sante Communautaire de Timmins is a francophone, not-for-profit healthcare centre. The Centre’s professional team offers primary care and community health services, including nutritional, mental health, health education, and pharmacology services.
The Misiway Milopemahtesewin Community Health Centre offers culturally appropriate health programs and services to the region’s Indigenous people. The Centre combines traditional and Western medicine practices across its services and programs.
