Family Health Teams

The Timmins Academic Family Health Team (TAFHT) is a multidisciplinary group of 29 independent physicians, 6 nurse practitioners, and 36 staff across five locations. New physicians are supported by established infrastructure, including administrative staff, workspace, and equipment.

TAFHT’s patients benefit from access to nurses, social workers, a psychologist, a dietitian, and other allied health professionals.

After Hours Clinic

The team also offers after-hours walk-in clinic services for rostered patients from Monday to Thursday (5:00–8:00 PM) and Saturdays (8:00–11:00 AM), with physicians scheduled on a rotating basis.

The East End Family Health Team in South Porcupine provides primary care through a team that includes nurse practitioners, registered nurses, a social worker, RPNs, and administrative staff. Services include chronic disease and pain management, mental health care, diabetes support, immunizations, OTN access, foot care, prescription renewals, and advanced care planning. The clinic takes a patient-centred, team-based approach focused on wellness and accessibility.

Community Health Teams

Misiway Milopemahtesewin Community Health Centre (MMCHC) provides culturally sensitive healthcare services to the Indigenous community in Timmins. The Centre offers primary care, mental health and addictions support, wellness programs, and chronic disease management, while also promoting cultural healing practices and traditional knowledge. MMCHC’s integrated team of healthcare providers includes family physicians, nurse practitioners, social workers, and community health workers. The Centre aims to improve health outcomes by offering a holistic approach to care, respecting cultural values, and ensuring accessibility for all.

The Centre de Santé Communautaire de Timmins (CSCT)is a French-language health centre serving Timmins and area. Its team provides primary care, mental health services, disease prevention, and health promotion. CSC Timmins also offers pediatric care for children under six who don’t currently have a family physician or nurse practitioner, ensuring timely access to essential services.

Rooted in Indigenous values, Mushkegowuk Health’s Primary Health Care Clinic in Timmins provides culturally safe care to Mushkegowuk members. Services include health promotion, illness prevention, chronic disease management, and foot care for members with specific health needs. The clinic reflects a holistic view of wellness where land, language, and culture are central to healing.
